    Worth visiting!

Campus is great….an awesome view of the river valley, very fun exercise classes, thankfully so many of the buildings are connected with tunnels or pedways so in the winter you donèt have to go outside too much!! (you know you live in Alberta when…) And as much as everyone complains about the confusing bio-sci building…it just adds character to the place.

    Worth visiting!

The U of A is in a delightful little neighbourhood called Garneau near Strathcona and the Garneau Theatre (where all the really cool movies go in Edmonton), and is an awesome campus to spend an afternoon on, even if you’re not a student. The school didn’t have my program, so I ended up moving two time zones away, but it’s got an awesome theatre program, a really good poli sci program, and the main hospital for the area right on campus. Hub Mall is cool, part student housing and part food court/place for really cheap books, and the Students Union Building has cheap paper for résumés. The Myer Horowitz Theatre in there is where I first saw The Secret Garden, Charlotte’s Web, and I think even Peter Pan with the now (sadly) defunct Stage Polaris. The Conservatory is a lovely home for violins and the best place to take wedding pictures at around. Just don’t walk under the Butterdome (the indoor track) outside in the spring. It was designed by someone from California, who failed to realise that giant hunks of ice and snow would careen off the edge when they melted and bury passersby below.
