Las Pinatas

Las Pinatas is a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant on Wells street about 100 feet south of North Avenue & Wells intersection. Typical sloppy Americanized Mexican food, but the chips and salsa are home-made and the Margaritas are the best I’ve had. If you want ‘girlie’ Margaritas (i.e., whipped up like a smoothie, ‘berry flavored’ or other) don’t bother – they can’t / won’t do it. Straight up, on the rocks, with salt. Goodness. Staggering distance from Second City, Rush & Division, among other fun places. Cabs readily available at pretty much all hours, if not on Wells, then one block East on LaSalle.
