Cayman Turtle Farm

I’m an idiot… I thought the turtles were cute. Lovable even. OOOH pet the cute turtle and have your picture taken holding the turtle!

I thought they were breeding turtles so they didn’t become endangered or something. I felt like a moron when I found out they are being raised for turtle soup.

The day I went to this Turtle Farm we got caught out, we walked there because Grand Cayman is so small and when I went there hitching was the “thing” to do. So, we hitched a ride there, there was a massive thunder storm that day and we ended up drenched, good storm though. Next time I go there I would hire a car!

Do not go to the Cayman Island Turtle Farm!!! There are hundreds of turtles crammed into small pools. Most will end up as someone’s dinner. They will tell you that they are released to the ocean, but most are killed for meat. This place is really horrible!
