Pershing Square

Well, this area used to be much more like a normally populated urban area of downtown L.A. in the 1950’s and if you read the brilliant novel “City of Night” by John Rechy you get an idea of how it can be historical to the gays, as it was a big cruising and social area for our pioneering homo ancestors.

I have no idea why this place is tagged as a gay place. I have never heard anything about that. Anyway, this place has ice skating during the December/January holiday season. That is the only reason you should go here. Pershing Square is a center of heroin dealing in Los Angeles, and there are tons of homeless people camped out there, so it’s not a touristy place.
