A secret in the desert by Trixxster

I don’t know many people who have been here, and that’s a real shame. As far as Missions go, the work that has gone into preserving this one, and the history un-earthed, is unbelievable! The rangers here seem to love what they are doing.

There is at least one tour per day, and it is offered around lunch time. Take it! During our trip, there was a woman who was making fresh tortillas! What a treat! This is a must see. A bit out of the way, but a very enchanting place! over 7 years ago

Mystical desert by gracie33

The mission at Tumacacori, just east of I-19 between Sahuarita and Nogales, is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in all of Arizona. Make a day of it and drift around Santa Cruz county, but dedicate at least a couple hours (if not the whole day) to absorb the ages-old air at the mission. The park used to have a luminaria festival at twilight every Christmas Eve, but I haven’t been able to confirm if they still do this. If they do, it will turn into one of your most cherished memories.
