The last time I went to this place  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

We suddenly realized just how distracting the huge televisions are. The kids were positively hypnotized. Our kids never see commercial TV, so they were defenseless in the glow of the giant plasma screens playing Nickelodeon. It was a little sickening. Please, turn them off, or tune them into the sports channels so my kids won’t become zombies during dinner.

The pizza still rocks, though. We may just stick to delivery.

A review of this place: Take it from a Pizza Pro  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I spent 10 years of my life making pizza prior to moving out to Seattle. I have lived in seattle for ten years now and this is the first pizza I have truly enjoyed out here and the BEST pizza I have EVER had. East coast, West coast- it doesn’t matter. The sourdough thing rocks!! I am not the only one that thinks so. Google for reviews and check it out!

Doing it a little differently this time  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I’ve been thinking a lot about habits lately, and in the spirit of breaking routine and trying things a little differently, we went to All Purpose Pizza tonight instead of calling in for delivery. At first it seemed to be the more difficult option, dragging the kids at 7pm to a new, unknown place. But as it turned out, it was delightfully easy. They have a little “kid’s kitchen” where the wee ones can roll pizza dough to their heart’s content, and while ours were fully engaged in that activity, Susan and I were able to have an enjoyable adult conversation. It seemed like a little miracle.

And the pizza is pretty good but, yes, it is a tad expensive. We found the service to be excellent and the atmosphere comfortable. And of course there’s ale on tap.

Bad pizza  — 1 year ago

    Not worth it!

We were excited to have a new pizza place in the ‘hood. It all sounded good. However we were disappointed with the two times we went there. The service is slow, they messed up the order twice and we didn’t really like the pizza. Sauce is too sweet, crust too chewy. Avoid. Does have a fun area for kids to play with pizza dough.

Pricey, pizza not THAT great, service = 0  — 2 years ago

    Not worth it!

We tried this place once when they opened, the pizza was okay, had a kind-of “Freschetta” flavor and texture but cost $20 instead of $7. Since they had just opened, we thought we would try it again, and called ahead to speak with the owner about our first experience. She told us to try them again and introduce ourselves when we came in. So, we did. The pizza was about the same, when we mentioned our name, no-one knew who we were, the customer service was as if we were bothering them, the coupon we had was “not valid”, and the place was empty, so it wasn’t as if they were “too busy to treat us nicely”. We won’t go back, and we are glad to find another new pizza shop in Mount Baker where they treat the customer like they should. The “industrial” atmosphere at All-Purpose seems cold, and the service just makes it worse. Sorry, folks, the “special sourdough crust” isn’t that special. Give me Romios or Pagliacci, or even Tombstone, any day. Mount Baker needs a nice pizza shop; they could have done it right and made a nice, cozy, friendly place, but $20 for a just “decent” pizza and cold service isn’t going to cut it. Ciao, baby..

The pizza guy cometh  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Up until now, getting decent pizza delivered to my door has been impossible. South Seattle in general, and my neighborhood in particular, is devoid of good pizza places that deliver. Tutta Bella may have the best pizza in the city, but you have to go there to get it.

All Purpose Pizza And Ale on S. Jackson St. has filled a humongous void. The pizza is good (nice sourdough crust) and they deliver as far south as S. Genesee St. We ordered The Weed Eater and The Wheel. Mighty tasty pies!

I think I’ll be adding a new speed dial.
