I saw the opposite of the alleged enthusiasm which wanabees around the country think they are emulating.

If I visited this place again, I might gain a different perspective on it, but when I went there a couple weeks ago, everyone was just standing around waiting for each other to order fish so the guys would do their thing. It was kinda stupid, a big crowd just waiting while nothing happened. Maybe if I actually saw these guys in action it would be cool, but waiting 10-15 minutes didn’t seem worth it.

There are fish. They are stinky. Some people like to look at them. Things get tossed around. Etc.

Let me start out by saying that I don’t like seafood.

Having said that, this is a place that you must see. The fishmongers are world famous for their theatrics. They throw large fish back and forth to one another across the market. They interact with the onlookers. Some of their antics are quite surprising and always hilarious.
