Worth visiting!
After the Art Fest got rained out today, my dad and I stumbled in here for a cup of coffee. While we drank our coffee, we chilled out on a couch and read a couple of books from the bookstore.
People started pouring in around 5:30. We asked a couple of people what was going on – turns out they were holding church services. I can’t think of too many churches that are also bookstores and coffee houses. (And play Jeff Buckley and Dashboard Confessional.) This is like…hipster church. In a good way!
Anyway, turns out this great artist I heard on NPR’s Open Mic a couple of months ago was opening for another band there at 7:30. How random, right?
My dad and I ended up spending $32 for two tickets, a CD of each band, and some really amazing coffee. Not a bad night!
Ecclesia Church oversees the whole space. The coffee is Fair-Trade, there’s an organic vegetable co-op, and an art gallery in the venue. (Which has great acoustics and a nice atmosphere.) Not to mention swing dance lessons. Quite the busy little space…
Check them out! There’s loads to do, and the people are super-friendly.
