Worth visiting!

Pati-oh my gosh!

The patio furnishings, pottery and outdoor accessories are amazing in and of themselves. But even if you’re not in the market for all things patio and beyond, you’ve got to stop by Herban Pottery & Patio (a few blocks South of Safeco Field on 1st Ave) for perhaps the most dramatic store setting in Seattle. The ceilings alone will amaze. These folks have restored and set up shop in an old warehouse space that’ll have you ogling at the perfectly distressed ceiling beams. The catch? It’s all natural—it’s what happens when you remove 100 years of paint and expose beautiful wood beams.

The owner (Dan) gave me some history about the building today when I was out shopping for a houseplant. The fellow that invented the wood lathe invented and manufactured it here … along with steering systems for ships (I think I got that all correct). Do yourself a big favor and visit … be sure to look up.
