Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 1 year ago

It’s a great place to chillout, get a free coffee & learn about Icelandic music. It’s how all record shops should be!

The upstairs portion contains mostly the more traditional classical selections, many of which are great.. downstairs is where you get all sorts of underground music, mostly local to Reykjavik/Icelandic artists. This is where I discovered that Gunni had a band after Bless (Dr. Gunni), and Mugison’s first release. I really should have picked up the Q4U compilation.. However I did get “Rokk I Reykjavik” the soundtrack 2CD, which is a great document of early Icelandic punk rock (circa 1981/1982). Anyway, you get the idea. Great place to hang out, listen to music, have coffee, and talk to the friendly staff about recommendations, things you’ve heard, etc.
