Onomichi aka: 尾道市

beautiful…
rusty prewar Japanese multi-story sea-shanties all piled up along a salty waterfront. cables and antennae everywhere.
Out in the ocean lay hundreds of small islands.

I rolled through this forgotten industrial town just as the twilight was beginning to pull my vision out into the melancholy distance.

On the Seto sea in Hiroshima-ken, Onomichi is really charming. It’s slow-paced. The town’s shopping street is 1/3 empty stores. But it has gorgeous old (original, not reconstructed) temples and is famous as a place artists liked to go to draw and paint the scenery.
