Not worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

This is just an old fashioned tourist trap. There is only one thing good about the place: the rolls. Everything else is either out of a can or a frozen product. This is for folks that prefer quantity over quality. They do serve large portions. But of what?

I was shocked because this place was so highly recommended.
It was honestly awful. At $10.99, I can do better than canned food.

First of all, we had to wait 2 hours for a table. The hosts and hostess were less than friendly. I should have known it was a bad sign when there were only teenagers in charge. No manager types to oversee the food or staff. That’s because they have so much business, the owners just don’t care. I mean, the Travel Channel has already made them famous and probably rich judging from the lines.

My husband ordered meat loaf and I ordered chicken fried steak. The cheapest cuts of meat were used. I could not eat mine. I have eaten CFS at many places, but never had any this bad. It was some sort of precooked thing, I guess so they can put the food out faster. The crust on it was OK, but not the meat. My husband could only choke down a few bites of the meatloaf. Before Lambert’s, he’d never met one he didn’t like.

The veggies were mostly OK, but canned; except for the fried okra which was a frozen product and the black eyed peas which were from dried and so awful I had to spit it out. Leftovers, I presume.

If you insist on going here and want good food, get the cheapest thing on the menu and only eat the rolls.

I was so looking forward to some decently prepared country food. Alas, I did not find it at Lambert’s.
