Picos De Europa

I have never felt so alive than when I was traveling through Picos de Europa. The Picos are this beautiful national park in the northern part of Spain. It is the most beautiful park in the world. More beautiful than the Rockies or anything else I have ever seen in the United States.

The walking is stunning in this area.. as with most of Sapin it gets too hot after May to really enjoy the walks.. but fantastic limestone landscapes, wildflowers & goats. Try the queso de Cabrales (local blue cheese) washed down with cidre .. an alchoholic apple drink poured from a hight into little glasses

Los Picos de Europa (EN:The Picos) are a mountain range near (20km) the north coast of Spain. They are part of the Cordillera Cantábrica and are predominantly in the Asturias.

If you a mountainer/caver, your local club will advise you on visits. If you are a normal human, visit mid-summer.
Normally, you arrive via Oviedo (NW) or Santander (NE).
Accommodation is available in the towns/villages around (mainly outside) The Picos.
