Fort Drum

My husband is stationed here and we’ve been living here over 2 years off and on (I moved home during his deployment). I too am from Texas (Dallas) and love the big city. This place isn’t so bad during the summer/fall. During the summer the temperature is great, it’s very sunny, the great lakes are like 20 minutes away with some great beaches. The fall is beautiful with the leaves changing and apple picking. However, I hate cold weather so the winter sucks. There’s not a lot of entertainment, dining, shopping, etch. But it’s getting a lot better. At least 5 new resturaunts have opened since I got back in July and a Target is opening soon. It’s an easy town to deal with but I will definately not be sticking around when we get out of the army.

I stayed for a few months with my fiance while he was stationed here before Iraq. Go 10th Mountain! Hooah! I didn’t like it though. I hate small towns. I’m from Texas and I don’t like the north.

This is our next duty station..I’m hoping it’s not too bad.
