Oh, East Hampton

There might be some scenery, but the restaurants in East Hampton are so, so awful! It’s the first place I’ve ever lived where I can’t find a single place to eat in town.
It’s a town of about 15,000 but it has a feeling of being like a town of 1500. It’s a “tourist town” without anything to draw in tourists (outside of the people who have homes around the lake). It’s in the middle of no where and it’s a drive to get everywhere.
Most of the people are very unpleasant, as well, and have no idea how to park in parking lots, or use the town’s four-way stop. All the teenagers also seem to have a HUGE chip on their shoulders.
But that aside, I do enjoy driving by the lake and I like having a covered bridge in town. I also like jogging on the Airline Trail which is near my house.

yea. i’ve lived here most of my life. and hey, it’s not a terrible place to be. Everyone always wants to leave right after high school… and everyone misses it eventually. I read once.. [i apologize if this is not verbatim] “that perhaps a city is a living thing. Each city has its own personality, after all. Los Angeles is not Vienna. London is not Moscow. Each city is a collection of lives and buildings and it has its own personality. So if it has its own personality. It may have a soul.” I take East Hampton for what it is. An entity. Neither of us chose to be here. But why not take in the sights while we’re waiting?

A growing area

East Hampton is a town on the move, constantly growing, but still keeping its small town charms. Most known for Lake Pocatapog (though I know I spelled that wrong!), its a very nice area. Its got a nice downtown area and plenty of places to visit.

East Hampton

My home town, where I’m from.
Grew up here, raised, and even stayed!
Nice lake, great for kayaking, wakeboarding, or landing a sea plane.
Good restaurants, still has small town feeling.

Just recently got a job in St. Croix, so this will be my first time away!
