Hôtel des Invalides

...sickeningly ostentatious, to be honest. Napoleon’s tomb is just ridiculous – I found Ferdinand Foch’s tomb (in the picture) much more appropriate and moving. The war museum is really interesting and even though I spent about two hours there, I actually had to leave before I saw everything I wanted to.

I wanted to see Napoleon’s horse. And that wing of the museum was closed. I was incredibly disappointed that I could not go see Napoleon’s stuffed horse.

Invalides is sort of out-of-the-way, so you should only go if you’re REALLY interested in military history and seeing Napoleon’s tomb.

I visited les Invalides with my father, and both he and I were very impressed…

This was so cool! It was just a cool feeling to be in there.
