Lexington

There’s a walking tour of both the battlefield and the Anderson House, a stately brick mansion that was a key feature in the three-day Battle of Lexington, because it was captured & recaptured several times. The museum is quite nice with lots of interesting displays; the film they run in the auditorium is kind of cheesy (but isn’t it always?) Even the kids liked it.

I live so close to Lexington and I’ve never been. I have often wanted to visit to see the Civil War sites. I am absolutely fascinated by the Civil War.

We spent a day here during the annual apple festival and found it a wonderfully relaxing escape from the city for the day
