Write an entry Entries about this placelove this place. by Oryxi could really see myself moving here after i finish up school in a year (if i could land a job here). it has kiteboarding, windsurfing, near mt hood, and the most gorgeous scenery, not to mention it’s home to one of my fave vegan companies – Tofurky. We’ve stop here a few times on way back from Mt Hood hiking trips to Portland and I really could envision this being an amazing place to live. over 2 years agoVisited recently.. by Venna HaloAfter being away from Hood River for about 7 years, I finally got to see it again this year. I really wanted to move there, but when I came back and saw it again, the town seemed to have changed a lot. It seems a lot more plastic and commercial than it was when I first lived there. It’s still rather charming and the scenary surrounding Hood River is still amazing. However, the town itself is not what it used to be, and I feel rather dissapointed. I like places with character and grit. This is too polished and seems to be crawling with rich playboys and old people. over 4 years agoWhat a cool town! by kenniedWe took a day trip along the Gorge and spent most of the day in Hood River. What a great place! A small-town feel and a downtown that has retained it’s character and hasn’t sold out to the big box stores. I love Hood River and miss it like crazy. over 6 years agoOne of the best up and coming places by tofslieHood River is the world’s capital of Wind Surfing. Not to mention it’s location right below Mount Hood for winter sports. The area is an amazingly beautiful area. Did you know 80% of pears come from here. I compare Hood River to an up and coming Ski Type town. Hopefully it doesn’t get over run with Richies like and Aspen type town. over 7 years agoSee all 6 entries |
