Rock Springs

I was on vacation. We should have just kept on driving. Looked like someone put a trailer park on the surface of the moon!

I lived here for quite some time and it was pretty miserable. It’s a small town but there’s just as much crime and methamphetamine problems as anywhere else-relatively high for such a small populated area. There’s some opportunities for hunting and fishing-neither which I do, and you can get hunting and fishing in better areas. A good chunk of businesses close early and there is just this general feeling that the town is moving a very slow, dull, boring rate. If you’re old, love the wind and cold and don’t want too many “new” things going on, this is the place for you. If you’re young, or just generally like to do more social activities, skip this place. Yuck.

Oh man, anyone who knows me knows how I feel about this place. I drove through here with a friend on our way to Portland, and we were gonna stay overnight, and we hated the place so much that we decided to drive non-stop instead. BAD IDEA, but still, sucks to Rock Springs.

Fun story: We were filling up the car at a gas station, and one of the attendants offered me ten dollars to punch my friend in the face. ROCK SPRINGS RULES.

I grew up here, its not that bad, but definitely not a vacation spot. Its grown a lot in the past 2 years and is still booming.

Out on Fire Lane Five. Worked in the oilfield, for Updike and Dunbar. Crazy town. Would not recommend living there, visiting there, or stopping by on your way through. Just keep on truckin’.
