finally was able to go to Bantayan last April with my classmates.. you can really go there for less than 1k.. the food and accomodation is cheap but the transportation is what kills your budget esp. when you want to go around the island..

it’s like mini boracay minus the crowded beach, pesky vendors and nightlife..

I bet this would be the next Boracay in future’s Time!

My dad grew up there and his family lives there. He took me there once when I was 11 to meet my relatives. It was an amazing experience.

bantayan is sOoo beautiful!!! island hopping & sunbathing are the best things to do there!

My Bantayan trip last holy week was indeed a blast. With the circle of friends, we discovered the beaches, the ‘sikad’, and each other.

truly a festive celebration of Holy Week. unlike other catholic communitites in the Philippines, this place is celebrating on Good Friday. i mean, if u call street dancing, roasting pigs, carnicval, videoke fests and more a celebration.. then indeed this place rocks on holy week. was told, the pope, thru a papal bull, in 14th century dispensed them the obligation to fast on Holy week..esp. good friday…

but as we sat in the harbor area on good friday, i was amazed by the fleet of bancas/ small boats docked in the pier.. families from numerous islands and islets nearby made them their temporary lodging places.. i can imagine what it could have been born during the balangay period of the archipelago..

I’m making plans to go to Bantayan Island this holy week with friends and this would be my first. I’m actually quite excited for I had heard a lot of things about this place, not to mentioned the alluring pics!

they have great beaches and resorts.
