21 Central

I decided to take Courtney out for a nice dinner this evening, the kind she’d have to get dressed up for. She looked absolutely stunning, but the food, was absolutely terrible.

We went to 21 Central in Kirkland, a place I remembered from a few years back. Betty Corbett and I went there after a cooking class at Sur La Table across the street. I wanted to go back because I had really enjoyed the tempura baby lobster tails.

Courtney and I arrived to find that our reservation had been lost. I’d only called them a few hours before. The hostess looked around for an open table giving me concern as to whether or not we’d have to wait for a table. After a few moments we were seated in one of their booths. The bench seats were cushy and deep, typical steak house fair.

That is when things really started to go downhill. The waiter brought us water. Water that did not necessarily have a bad taste, rather it had a hollow feeling. The kind of sensation that only pool water can give your stomach. Considering how much they promoted their oversized martini it is not too shocking that they neglected to notice this oversight.
