Pretty City... Begging Children by Swillett
This city was a great place to visit. It was a cute city with lots of fun cafes, restaurants, and pubs in the evenings. There’s a nice strip of places where it was well-lit and us girls felt safe walking after dark, however this is the same strip that is loaded with local children who dress up in funny costumes and dance in the street, or a troupe of young boys will perform a break-dancing demo, or smaller children will make figures out of palm leaves: all for money. We felt bad for this one little boy who was adorable (maybe 12 years old?). We bought about 3 of his palm leaf figures then were horrified to see him huffing from a baby-food-jar (most likely shoe glue) to get a high. Very sad
