Guanajuato (City)

Visited back in 1998 for an Astronomy conference, and spent a few extra days there. Very colourful and impressive place. I agree with s3nsiiparty: worth viewing from the top of a hill.

Honestly my favorite place in Mexico. The city is amazing, and you must view it from the top of the hill, even if you have to walk up it its worth it!

You shouldn’t miss this city. Def. you should stay as close to the center of the city as possible. The city life is so alive and safe!

went during the winter holidays and every night the “estudiantinas” (groups of singing students) singing, walking and offering drinks. Beautiful city to just walk around, sit or just people watch.

Guanajuato is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. It is truly a magical city full of history, culture, personality, and entertainment. The architecture is amazingly customized to the steep mountains that surround the city. The old river that used to flow underneath the city is now a busy street. The nightlife in this city is not for the faint of heart! The food is also to die for. And inexpensive. There is also a lot of art and music in this city. You should go there. And if you do, make sure to stop by Bar Ocho, run by my cousin Julie Foley for the last ten years!

The town is clean and the silver mines make great underground subways for car traffic. The art here is incredible and the food is great.
