DC Chinatown by russellviii

I was surprised to learn that there was a Chinatown in DC. I’ve been through there a couple of times. It’s interesting to see the signs written in Chinese. There is also a big archway right near the entrance to the Metro station.

It happens to be near the International Spy Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and several other attractions.

During Katsucon my friends and I hit up Chinatown. It was pretty sweet. I did a little report on it for my Tourism and Culture class. Being an anthropology major, I liked seeing and over analyzing the ethnic neighborhood. When I was thinking about “front door” vs. “back door” aspects of the district, I relaxed and enjoyed it the way most people do. I want to go back to D.C. to see the other sites.

Tiny little place by David Mihalcik

Not really Chinatown but a funhouse version of it (Rockville has a better Chinese restaurant scene). Still notworthy for people who are visiting the city, though.
