I was surprised to learn that there was a Chinatown in DC. I’ve been through there a couple of times. It’s interesting to see the signs written in Chinese. There is also a big archway right near the entrance to the Metro station. It happens to be near the International Spy Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and several other attractions. over 3 years agoUntitled by ritualdisgraceDuring Katsucon my friends and I hit up Chinatown. It was pretty sweet. I did a little report on it for my Tourism and Culture class. Being an anthropology major, I liked seeing and over analyzing the ethnic neighborhood. When I was thinking about “front door” vs. “back door” aspects of the district, I relaxed and enjoyed it the way most people do. I want to go back to D.C. to see the other sites. over 5 years agoTiny little place by David MihalcikNot really Chinatown but a funhouse version of it (Rockville has a better Chinese restaurant scene).
