The most popular and well known of East Java’s tourist attractions is undoubtedly Bromo Mountain.
The pre-dawn departure and trek across the mountain’s famous ‘sand sea’, to watch the sunrise at the crater rim, has become something of a ritual, enacted daily by people of every nationality.

Worth visiting!
We went there with a group of friends. The thing they say is that everybody should see the sunrise from the Bromo, that is the big attraction.
But where most people watch the sunset by waking up at 5 am and traveling by donkey to the top of the mountain, we decided to leave a day before and sleep up there. We had an absolutely extremely cold night. Unprepared, without any camping material we decided to burn anything we could spare and stayed there for sunrise. Very nice memories.
