Smith Rock State Park

This is a amazing place, I most recently went there at night, It was a huge full moon and its light reflected off all the rocks and ridges as well as the crooked river. My friends went climbing and I hiked around a bit, it was my first time being there at dark and I loved it!!

This is a great place for climbing, even if some of the climbs are a bit crumbly. (all the more exciting I suppose when everything crumbles at once)
In addition, it is good for hiking and observing wildlife.
Spent many a happy weekend there….

One of the most sensational natural landscapes I’ve ever seen. Not impressive on the scale of the Grand Canyon or Yosemite, but an amazing sight nevertheless… and very easy to visit, just a few minutes off Highway 97.

when i was there i had never climbed before, we just hiked to the top, and we could see people slack roping from the cliff to monkey face…oooh…i’ll try and upload some photos…cause i didn’t have a digital back then either…
