if you find yourself here you've done yourself a favor
what is the name of that most magnificent terrine of potatoes, lobster, cream, cheese, potatoes, lobster, cream, cheese, potatoes, lobster, cream, cheese, etc.? just layers and layers of local goodness. i spent a week driving, hiking, snorkling and eating. some of the nicest savage scenery in the world coddled by very decent people—sorta like western scotland but with miles long sand bars and french food. makes PEI seem even more plain than it is.

Amazing Scenery
Our trip to Les Iles De La Madeleine was back in July of 1999. I am still dreaming about returning there someday. It is an almost secret place that makes you feel like you are stepping back in time. It was very restful and at times we felt a sense of almost being alone. It was the best bicycling experience I’ve had to date and I can’t really imagine a more wonderful place to just ride and enjoy the moment. I am an American and almost everyone there is French and French speaking. There were times of language barrier problems but we found the residents there to be very friendly & polite in spite of the language barrier. I plan on learning more french before returning again.
Wonderful little restaurants, art galleries, and gift shops are all woven into the fabric of the islands pristine landscape. If you enjoy nature vacations and the outdoors, plan a trip here. The prices are cheap and the value amazing!
