Ferndale

This is a SMALL victorian town, but it’s really quaint and adorable. Stay on main street for the great food, and keep in mind that “The Majestic” with Jim Carrey was filmed there. My friend’s grandma was an extra cuz she lived there! It’s awesome. Check out the cute little shops- but remember to get an early start cuz it all shuts down early!

I used to live in a town just past Ferndale. Cold but beautiful. Loved the old houses. Close to the sea. I remember some African Shop there. I liked the “downtown” there. I lived there when there was a big earthquake and some of the houses came off there foundations. I think part of the movie “Outbreak” was filmed there.

My wife and I travelled the Pacific Coast Highway on our honeymoon. We stopped here to get a bite to eat, and coincidentally the film “The Majestic” was being filmed at this time. We looked at the set and the old cars on the street for a while, and then wandered around. It’s a charming, tranquil town with Victorian homes. I took some photos of Ferndale from the top of a hill in the local cemetary.
