Not worth visiting!

Small with history

I know very little of Olton. There is a moat ‘Hobs Moat’ but it is just a trench around a mound in a wood. There is Castle Lane near by but no Castle! Olton is pictured in B&W on the internet, really old photos from the early 1900’s.Olton was mostly farmland with land owned by Mitchells & Butlers the brewers. They started selling the land off to persons wishing to build private dwellings, and mighty fine they are. Most on the Warwick Road are Edwardian onwards with a couple of older cottage style houses that were probably some sort of family farm housing.Visit: http://www.solihull-online.com/t-aitken-pics.htm for some old B&W photosof the local area and houses.
