So dark that we couldn’t find the matches to relight the damn thing and we had to wait for someone else to come along and help us. The moral? Bring an extra flashlight. over 7 years agolava caves are super cool by alison apples…no, really, they are chilly…it’s about 47 degrees down there year round. so, even though we went during a warm summer day, we had to bundle up, it was so much fun! and what a great way to cool off. here’s a picture i took in the cave…enjoy! haha…i really did take this in the cave. over 7 years agoIt's a Cave by AmykrisApe Cave (Mount St. Helens ) – formed from a basalt flow over 2,000 years ago; at 12,810’ this is the longest lava tube in the 48 contiguous states, and one of the longest of its kind in the world http://www.travel-in-wa.com/travel/facts.html over 7 years agoUntitled by HariSeldonIt’s a lava tube on an active volcanoe. You get really spoked when the mountain gives it a shake. A great place to take kids only one way in or out. Always pocket an extra flash light or two. Don’t burn yourself on the rental lattern. over 7 years agoSee all 7 entries |
