The O2 aka: Millennium Dome

I went to the opening exhibition and quite enjoyed it. I did think it was crazy that it was only meant to be on for 1 year though. It was such a massive project it would have been extremely difficult to turn a profit in such a short time. For years they didn’t know what to do with it afterwards – now it’s a successful concert and exhibition venue.

For James Bond fans, the Dome features in the fantastic pre-title sequence of The World Is Not Enough.

God this place is huge.

Not built to last or the prettiest building in London but an amazing piece of engineering/design.

Went there for a festival – many live music stages and exhibition skate ramps there.

Had a lot of bad press, but I thought it was quite good. Some of the exhibits were tacky but the sheer massiveness of the project and the (good) attractions made it worth visiting. Also had fun jumping over the meridian line.
