Edinburgh Farmers' Market

I went in winter, and there wasn’t much fresh produce, but there was lots of other good fresh food: cheeses, butter, hot sauces, meat, fish, preserves, oatmeals, cheesecakes, etc. I’m going to go back in the warmer months, when I’m sure it will be even better.

I love food. I love cooking. I’m not an expert on either! I do, however, think that we’ve lost a lot of the concept of seasonality for foods, what with supermarkets shipping strawberries in January, etc. Not good! Proper, fresh, seasonal, LOCAL produce just has to taste better, doesn’t it?

Anyway. Thank google, I found out there’s a farmers market every weekend practically on my doorstep. So I just have to get organised and find the courage to go! ;)
