Gare Du Nord aka: Gare de Paris-Nord

There’s something intoxicating about Garde Du Nord. It’s not that it’s beautiful, so much as what it represents. As a gateway to one of the world’s greatest cities, it resonates with romance and expectation.

of course, it’s also hugely practical, being superbly connected to the rest of Paris, as well as the city’s major airports.

Indeed, whenever I travel to Paris, I always book into a Gare du Nord hotel

It’s particularly handy if I have a late arrival or an early getaway, as Gare Du Nord’s reliable train network means I’m within easy reach of the airport.

…that most people don’t stop to look at train stations themselves, but with this one it’s a pity not to. The architecture is beautiful and there are worse places to sit and have a coffee.

I spent a lot of time here, waiting for my friend to come pick me up!!! I must say it’s a lively, exciting place, but can be very scary when you don’t speak any french and you were expecting someone to pick you up who didn’t show for a few hours!
