As much as I wanted to get out, I still miss P.R. It’s really laid back, slow paced and fun outdoorsy stuff. No crowds everywhere, so you can actually enjoy the scenery. definitely go if you like it outside.

It’s a beautiful town, nice people, great scenary and a lovely ocean view. It’s a nice place to escape from big cities and just relax.

I volunteered here in 2004 with Canada World Youth, and I adore this little town. It lightly skims along the Sunshine Coast, looking out at Vancouver Island, and has the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen. Marine Ave is a delight, the mayor is very exciteable, and the people are incredibly welcoming of newcomers. Another thing that struck me was how active people are in how their community is run, and in volunteering. The Festival of Trees is not to be missed, and I hear the singing is quite a treat in the summer (I’m not even going to try to spell the name of the festival).

I live in Powell River on the Sunshine Coast and it is really laid-back, hippy living!! The pace is slow, the scenery is phenomenal, the hiking is amazing…and I don’t want to leave!
