Environmental Lobby Day
I went down to Olympia for the first time for environmental lobby day. A coalition of environmental groups organized a day for people to come from all over the state to lobby for specific environmental bills. There was even a biodiesel bus from Seattle.
There were about 25 people from my district (43rd), and we got to meet all three of our legislators. Sen Ed Murray had a quiet, tasteful office and met us in a nice conference room. Rep Frank Chopp, as speaker of the House, had a suite in the ornate main legislative building. And Rep Jamie Pedersen, who is in his first term, was working in a closet with a nice view and a Seattle Men’s Chorus poster, with secretaries and staffers running around the cubicles outside. Fortunately a few of our group had to leave early since we barely fit as it was.

The first time I went to this place
was on a school field trip in 1969 for a civics class. Been back many times since. A beautiful city with tree lined streets!
Check out the Farmers Market! Someday I’ll make it there for the summer event-Lakefair..

Another Beautiful Domed Building
I didn’t go inside, so I would like to go back someday. I admired it from the outside.
