    Worth visiting!

If you are in the Hollywood area, I would recommend eating there at least once. We went there at night during a weekday, so the line wasn’t very long. There are a lot of different types of hot dogs to order from and many will look delicious to you if you are really into hot dogs. I ate the Mullholland Drive Dog, which was okay…I wouldn’t eat there again, but I think it would be a fun place to go to if you are a tourist visting Los Angeles. The seating area inside was small (about 9 tables that seat 2-3 people each) and the walls are covered with pictures of celebrities that have eaten there. There is also seating outside and in a “room” right next to the main one…

    Not worth it!

i honestly think they make the dogs slowly on purpose so there’s always a line. it was 5 years before i actually got around to standing in line long enough to finally try the hot dog. i was really disappointed. i thought the chili was bland and unexceptional. carney’s is way better.

If Orson Wells ate 17 at one time, there must be something good about them than regular hot dogs!

    Worth visiting!

I’ve been here a few times. All I can say is: if you get the pastrami double dog with sauercraut and cheese it’ll make you run for the bathroom a few hours later. although I have to say it was freakin amazing the first time around…. unfortunately. My girlfriend rolls down the passenger side window and screams “TOURISTS!” at the people standing in line as we drive by because its fun. Pinks isnt that great.. I mean, its a hotdog for godsakes.. but since its a PLACE to see.. i guess then eat there, but dont expect too much except for a long line. Seriously folks, BBQ your own dogs at home for betta flava than this.. but check it out for its heritage i guess? or maybe the experience of the wait in line as you are starving and it smells so damn good? I dunnno. its just one of those type of places. good luck, but your milage may vary, BTW no matter what they try and add to it, the veggie tofu dog is bland and weird.. but who would get a veggie dog anyway? uhhh… n/m.

I know why the line is around the block...  — 2 years ago

    Not worth it!

Because the service is inefficient. I think people make the pilgrimage because of they’ve heard it’s been there for 60 years and they always see a line. I suspect that people secretly feel deep down the way I did both times I actually stood in line for an hour to try it: “Geez, it’s a tasty hot dog, but not worth waiting an hour for.” But, they waited, so they say to others, “You GOTTA go to Pinks!!” Ok, so maybe it’s worth visiting so you can say you did it. But I’d rather wait for 5 minutes across the street at Carl’s Jr. for a burger. Pity too, since it’s 2 blocks from my house…
