Good 'ol Scaggsville by eighty5original
You may laugh as you drive by the sign on route I-95, but Scaggsville is more than just farmland, it’s also a great place to live. It’s a suburb between Laurel and Columbia, with non-existent crime. It’s not very large; there’s a horse farm, a milk-processing plant, a family-owned snowcone shoppe as well as Pepperjack’s (a fairly new business that replaced Scaggsville Station) which sells really yummy sandwiches and hand-dipped ice cream. We even have a brand-new road, which is an extension of route 216. Oh, and we also have a Food Lion which is very conveniently closeby! More recently there is a new shopping center next to Food Lion that has a Baskin Robbins, Cleaners, Nail Salon, Subway, and a Liquer Store. A new townhouse development is located behind this, with really beautifully designed interiors! (I’m jealous of them)
As you can probably tell, this once small town is growing fast! When I was in middle school (at Hammond Middle, which is located next to Hammond Elementary off of Leisure Road) there weren’t any developments like the ones that are here today, it was just ‘the snowcone place’ and Scaggsville Station. I would ride my bike through the woods in the middle of the summer to get a snack at one of these places. But the woods are gone now, replaced by the new highway… which is sad, but Scaggsville is still a homey place.
So, if you like small-towns and want to live in a place with a low crime rate, maybe you should consider Scaggsville, MD as your new home! Or if you enjoy horseback riding or milk, maybe just come visit sometime! See you soon! :)
