For those who are a bit older, they might also think of the King’s Cross fire which happened 20 years ago last year. I still remember the terrible pictures in the newspapers. The fire led to smoking being completely banned on the Underground, including stations completely above ground. There is a memorial plaque in the station remembering the 31 people who died. over 3 years agoUntitled by cranberrygoddessGot a bit lost following the signs from here to St. Pancras station, but then, who can fault a place on the monopoly board? over 4 years agoHarry Who? by NedRaggettOne day I’ll read the books (I’m waiting on the final one to get published). In the meantime, I’ve been to this station a number of times for connections north and all, and personally I like the place a lot. (There are two separate stations IIRC, one for the tube and one for wider train connections, but someone can correct me on this as needed.) over 5 years agoKinda scummy by funkfaerieI went here just after the MASSIVE hail storm in 2004… so not only was it generally seedy and dodgy, it was also attacted by the hail storm, so there were tree branches asnd ice everywhere. Definately go there at night… it’s the nightlife that’s the most interesting part of King Cross. over 5 years agoSee all 7 entries |
