Venice Beach

Awesome! We rode bikes and swam in the ocean, nothing better.

Watch out for dwarfs with attitudes and evil mimes

Alot of random people and plenty of places to buy bongs/pipes… hahaha

Due to a mix up in flight schedules (my fault) we didn’t arrive in Los Angeles until mid afternoon, and Venice Beach until quite late. Too late to get in any BBall, unfortunately.

We did dip our toes in the ocean (cold), did a few chin ups and rope climbs (well, the boys did) at Muscle Beach, strolled down the walkway checking out the vendors, and listened to musical artists hawking their CD’s. Original approach to selling music, entertaining and fun. One gentleman on roller skates had an amp strapped to his body and played a pretty mean guitar. Sounded a bit like Buddy Guy.

I absolutely loved it! And I’ve only been there once but I’d love to go back. Its just a great surrounding.

This is the only place in the world where i am consistantly hooted at as i walk down the street.

I didn’t like this place at first, because it was strange and all I wanted to do was go home after having been in India for almost a month. My flights were cancelled twice, and on the second day, my friend and I got to see Venice Beach during the daytime. It’s such a strange place and I didn’t really fit in there, but everyone was nice and it’s an experience everyone should have.

Venice is cool if you enjoy a nice bike ride along the beach…some light shopping and people watching. Its a nice destination on a hot day in L.A.

I made the mistake of driving down here on a late, rainy afternoon—it was very eerie being there while it rained and there was almost no one on the boardwalk except for gangsas and bums and stupid chicas like me.

But if you’re willing to endure constant comments by the locals (I’ve been hassled for just about everything I can think of), it’s a really fun place to go. Especially if you like to people watch.

Can’t really recommend swimming in the water, though. There are so many junkies around this area, that I’d be surprised if you didn’t step on syringes.

So. Awesome.
