A tip I have about this place
If you’re first time visiting Prambanan temple, Prambanan just few minutes away from Yogyakarta. The Best time for visiting is at noon, You can see the beautiful sunset.
But, if arrive at midday, dot forget to use sunblock, bring some water and umbrella to protect you from the heat.
Also dont forget to visiting the museum.
Last, in exit path, we will through a market that sells merchandise. If You willing not to buy anything, just say no thanks and dont look at their stuff.
hope this helps.

Relics of a past culture
This is a series of Hindu temples in Java not far from Yogyakarta. The story I was told when I was there was that there were 1000 temples that were built in one night, but at the time (1993) while they were restoring it they found alot less.
Like Borobudur, the buddhist temple not far away, prambanan holds interest by virtue of being a buddhist temple in an island that is predominantly muslim but was once ruled by hindu kingdoms. Also like borobudur, it has a fascination beyond this because of its intricate carvings.
