Giza Necropolis aka: The Giza Pyramid Complex, Pyramids of Giza

The scale of the great pyramid is all the more awesome when you think about the period in which it was built. Would recommend going on a camel ride out into the desert to see it from a distance. The Sphinx was rather less impressive than I expected.

Also, be prepared for fairly constant harassment from beggars and street traders when you’re there.

The people are annoying very annoying they keep on asking for tips and tips and more and more tips …

When I went to Egypt, we visited a lot of temples and, of course, the Valley of the Kings. But we didn’t visit any pyramids. I’ve been to Egypt and I’ve never seen an Egyptian pyramid!

So I must go back. This time, I think I will take my husband along so that he can see some of the country as well.
