Bands in JP

Does anyone realize how many bands live in Jamaica Plain?
I was just wondering if this has been discussed here yet.

I know Rick Berlin (Rick Berlin), Brian Viglione (The Dresden Dolls), Holly Brewer and M@ McNiss (HUMANWINE) are all neighbors. I’m just naming a couple here…does anyone know of any other bands or band members that are active in the music scene in Boston who call JP home?

Don’t know who I’m talking about? Check them out.
I can’t play or sing to save my life but I live for Music!

P.S. I love The Alchemist!

JP- My home town is the tops in Boston

I grew up in JP, spent 20+ years of my life there, and I never really get tired of it. It has a great combination of an urban vibe, and enough green to make you forget you’re in the city. JP Licks still has the best icecream. Hyde Sqaure has some excellent mom and pop restaurants serving great Latin cuisine, and downtown JP on Centre Street, has enough shops and restaurants to grab a bite with a friend or a date.
Definately check out the Arboretum or the pond.

Jamaica Plain

Jamaica Plain is a neighbourhood to the southwest of downtown Boston. It has lots of green space: Jamaica Pond (where you can rent rowboats in the summer, and people often walk their dogs or jog), the Arnold Arboretum (http://www.arboretum.harvard.edu/), and Franklin Park and the Franklin Park Zoo. It has a very racially and culturally mixed population, and a strong sense of neighbourhood identity, with lots of local festivals and events.

Centre Street is the main drag, and Washington Street and the Jamaicaway are important arteries.
