Le Bistro Montage

I’ve only eaten at the Montage once. However, I had easily the best macaroni and cheese— in three different varieties, no less— that I’ve ever eaten when I visited. The atmosphere is different from conventional restaurants, to be sure; all of us at the table jumped when the cook hollered an order every few minutes. But the Montage definitely demonstrates that different is not necessarily worse.

From the delicious dishes to the innovative and sometimes ridiculous tinfoil figures that the waiters wrap your leftovers in, the Montage is certainly a restaurant to visit.

it’s all about the oyster shooters, the frog legs and of course, there is no failing to mention the tomato basil mac n’ cheese.

it’s a fun place – lively. There used to be an adorable French waiter there who was fun to flirt with. I particularly enjoyed the evening when the people sitting across from us at one of the community tables smoked bowls as they waited for their entrees.

This place takes you somewhere, I’m not sure where, maybe Europe, maybe New Orleans, anyway it’s a hoot. The hostess is also one of a kind, you know the food has to be good to put up with the crap that that she doles out. If anyone on the face of the planet hates life, it’s her. But the food… good stuff. We also found that they had a bar in back for us to have a drink while we waited for our table. Just hike back to the Lounge in back (she won’t bother to tell you that there is a bar in the back).

Anyway, The food is good and the bartenders are sweeeeeet
