I’m undecided on the lipstick kisses issue.
It’s one thing to leave a message for Oscar Wilde, saying how he changed your life, made you happy, whatever.
It’s another completely to desecrate a grave. Lipstick kisses look nice, but the greasy marks left when the colour gets rained off do not. I LOVE YOU scrawled in black marker pen… it just made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
I have the utmost respect for Oscar Wilde, so I did not mark his tomb.

And to quote
_‘And alien tears will fill for him
Pity’s long broken urn
For his mourners will be outcast men
And outcasts always mourn’_
I think he would have approved.

Gorgeous, but also Disappointing
The sculpture that dominates Wilde’s tomb is beautiful, but the cemetary caretakers have placed an ugly crowd control fence around it, and scrubbed off the lipstick kisses and messages to Wilde, so you cannot touch it or see the evidence of the people who came before. It is still a wonderful monument, though.
