Berkeley Springs

My grandparents retired in this little town in West Virginia and we used to go visit them there all the time. When I was little there was one “Main Street” w/ a few establishments, but no McDonald’s and no Wal-Mart. That has slowly changed over the years and now there is a lot more to the “town” but it still retains it’s country charm. There’s a yearly Apple Butter Festival in the fall complete with bandstand music, a parade and a must-see: a Turtle Race. Also, right at the heart of town there is a great big hotel I think called the Country Inn (nice rooms, swimming pool etc.). It’s a nice place to visit.

The Roman baths in the state park are very nice, and so is the accompanying massage. Fill up your gallon jugs with all the spring water you can drink at the adjacent springs.
