Caraquet is a trong cultural community proud to speak french and they like visitors from everywhere! The history of the Acadians is rich and there’s a nice place to share that past with the number one attraction The Historial Acadian Village located 15 minutes from the city!

The Chaleur Bay is pretty with those big fishing boats that you can see at the local wharf. You will enjoy the traditionnal blessing of the boats during the Acadian Festival. It’s a must see with all those ships decorated! The Tintamarre is another event related in the form to the New Orleans Mardi Gras. The colors of the blue , white and red flag with the yellow star of the Acadians are everywhere during that event!
