Zanesville

A great place to explore on a lazy Sunday.

So Zanesville is a nice little town and it’s okay and everything, but I recently came to the cliche conclusion that there really is nothing to do here. My friends and I wanted to do something and our two top options were playing hide and seek in the dark at KidZVille (a big playground) or hanging out with the old people at the RV rally at the fairgrouds. Other typical plans involve the mall or, yes, WalMart. Life isn’t all bad here. Zanesville has three yearly events everyone here loves: the county fair, Gus Macker, and Sertoma Pancake Day. You can expect a good 75% of the town to turn out for each of these. So life isn’t all bad here… but it can be boring.

I spent one of them here with my family at a cool little motel. Zanesville seems to be as far as we could make it in one day on our return trip to Iowa from spending Christmas in New Jersey. In order to be back to Iowa in time for school, we had to leave before the New Year. I lobbied to stay in NJ and then go to Times Square, but I got outvoted by my parents. Thus, it was Zanesville and watching “Grease” the sing-along version.

We brought Dog food here from Flagstaff, Arizona. They were very nice to us at the factory; they fed us, gave us free samples, and all sorts of stuff. I liked the town. It was quiet and friendly!

I spent most of my time in Zaks when I wasn’t working
