Anna Maria Island

my mom lives there and it is very pretty

My husband & I have fond memories of visits here. We LOVE it here and would love to vacation there again to show our daughter.

This destination is on my schedule for 2006. I have never been to Florida, but have family living there (Ellenton), so am looking forward to the visit.

We lived there for 3 years. It was so beautiful, but it’s turned into a crowded, touristy mess. The island traffic is gridlock on any given holiday. We got to see it just before it went downhill. It was Heaven. If you go, eat at Mr. Bones (great food, awesome atmosphere!), Bridgetender Inn, Banana Cabana. Oma’s has outstanding pizza. Mama-Lo’s has great ice cream. Places that suck: Rotten Ralph’s (the owner is VERY rude), Anchor Inn (white trash), Bridge Street Cafe (overpriced lousy food). On the mainland, our fave places were: The Seahorse, Casa Azteca, Peaches, Jo-To, Panera Bread. Our fave bar was Bermuda Breeze on Tamiami Trail. Good bands, suprisingly good food, and phenominal service. Too bad Bongo’s Bar relocated to Tampa. THAT was a fun bar. If you ever need storage, use Hide-Away. Great company, honest and decent. The owner is the nicest man you could ever meet.
