Ishigaki

My Grandmother was born in Ishigaki and moved to Hawaii a few years after my mother was born. After my Great-grandmother passed…when went to the island for the one year service. I was very young, but I remember the pride I felt…my roots could be traced back to this beautiful little tropical paradise. I especially remember us driving in the mountains and stopping at this little soba house..it was so delicious!! My grandmother gets so homesick..especially around the new year, when she puts up decorations. I hope that one day I can take her back to the island she misses so much, and learn more!!!
