Grandfather Mountain

Go hiking up the trails on the mountain. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a camera. Awesome hiking. I plan on taking my mtn bike next time.

i’ve been to grandfather mountain 3-4 times. its SUCH an amazing place. i first went with my family when i was little and was terrified of the swinging bridge. when i attended appstate i made a few trips there and loved it. the view is breathtaking. the animal habitats are awesome. this place is perfect for a picnic or a hike! its REALLY windy on the bridge at times though so bring a coat! a great place to visit when you’re on vacation in the NC mountains :)

Ran the Grandfather Mountain Marathon twice which goes 26.2 miles from Boone to Grandfather Mounatin. I can still feel the burn in my quads

Good for hiking and picnicing. Nice drive up for a Sunday afternoon. Went here for family picnics all the time as a kid.
